Integrated B.Ed
Four-year integrated teacher education degree
The Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) is a four-year dual degree — B.A. B.Ed., B.Sc. B.Ed. or B.Com. B.Ed. — that combines a subject degree with teacher training. Each programme prepares teachers for one school stage: foundational, preparatory, middle or secondary. It was introduced by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) in 2023-24 under NEP 2020.

How you get in
Pass Class 12. Admission is through NCET (National Common Entrance Test), run by NTA; NCTE requires ITEP institutions to admit only through NCET. Each participating institution then runs its own counselling.
At a glance
- ITEP is offered at central and state universities, IITs, NITs, Regional Institutes of Education and government colleges.
- You still need to clear CTET or a state TET for most teaching jobs.
- The stage you train for shapes which classes you are prepared to teach.
