Class 12 in any stream. Education is offered as a major or one of the subjects in a B.A. at many state and central universities, through CUET-UG or Class 12 marks.

- It pairs naturally with a later B.Ed, which is the actual licence route to school teaching.
- The four-year integrated ITEP is a separate route that combines a degree with a B.Ed from the start.
- Graduate jobs without a B.Ed are mainly in tutoring, preschools, ed-tech and education NGOs.
