Five-year integrated science degree
A five-year programme that combines a bachelor's and a master's in the basic sciences, with a strong focus on research. The seven IISERs award a BS-MS dual degree; NISER Bhubaneswar and UM-DAE CEBS Mumbai offer a similar five-year integrated M.Sc. You study biology, chemistry, mathematics and physics first, then major in one subject and finish with a year-long research project.

How you get in
Class 12 in the science stream. IISERs admit through the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT); the JEE Advanced and KVPY channels were dropped from 2024. NISER and UM-DAE CEBS admit through NEST (National Entrance Screening Test).
