What you’d do
A Unani physician diagnoses patients using Unani principles, such as pulse and temperament assessment, and treats them with medicines, diet and regimental therapies like cupping (hijama). Employers include government Unani hospitals and dispensaries, private clinics and therapy centres, and many physicians run their own registered practice. A typical day is outpatient consultations, therapy sessions and prescribing.

How you get in
Admission to BUMS is through NEET-UG, with AACCC counselling for the all-India quota and state counselling for state seats. Many colleges require Urdu at school level or teach it in the first year. After the internship, registration with the state board allows practice; government posts come through state public service commissions and health department notices.
