Processes monthly salaries, statutory deductions and payroll filings for an organisation.
What you’d do
Payroll executives make sure employees are paid correctly and on time, with tax and social-security deductions handled as the law requires. Companies, payroll outsourcing firms and CA firms hire them. Each month follows a cycle: collect attendance and changes, run payroll, check it, pay, and file returns.
- Run monthly salary processing
- Compute TDS, PF, ESI and professional tax
- Prepare payslips and payroll reports
- Support statutory filings and queries
How you get in
Freshers usually join a payroll outsourcing firm, a CA firm or a company's HR or finance team as payroll associates. Knowledge of salary TDS, provident fund and ESI rules is the main thing interviewers check.
