An oilfield field engineer leads a small crew that delivers one specialised service at a well — such as wireline logging, cementing, well testing or stimulation. Oilfield service companies hire them to work for oil and gas operators. Days are long and irregular when a job is running, and are spent preparing equipment and reports at the base between jobs.
