Hospital Administration Executive
Also known as: Hospital Operations Executive · Healthcare Administrator · Floor Manager (Hospital)
Supports the daily running of hospital departments — admissions, billing, bed management and facilities.
What you’d do
A hospital administration executive handles the non-clinical side of a hospital so that doctors and nurses can focus on patients. Employers are private hospitals, hospital chains, diagnostic centres and some trust and government hospitals. A typical day moves between the admission desk, wards, billing and support services, sorting out bed allocation, patient queries, staff rosters and supply or maintenance issues.
- Coordinate admissions, discharges and bed allocation
- Handle patient queries and complaints
- Track department supplies and facility issues
- Keep records ready for audits and accreditation
How you get in
Freshers usually join a private hospital as an administration, operations or front-office trainee, often after an internship in the same hospital during the degree. Larger hospital chains run management-trainee programmes for graduates of hospital-management courses.
