Airline Ground Operations Executive
Also known as: Ramp Operations Executive · Ground Handling Executive · Turnaround Coordinator
Coordinates an aircraft's turnaround on the ground — loading, fuelling, catering and departure paperwork.
What you’d do
Between landing and the next take-off, many teams work on an aircraft at once — baggage and cargo loaders, fuellers, caterers, cleaners and engineers. A ground operations executive coordinates them so the flight leaves on time and safely, and prepares documents such as load sheets. Employers are airlines and ground-handling companies at airports.
- Coordinate turnaround tasks between flights
- Prepare load and departure documents
- Liaise with ground handlers, crew and ATC desk
- Report and resolve delays
How you get in
Freshers join airlines or ground-handling companies as ground staff or operations trainees through their own recruitment drives. An airport entry pass needs a background check, and a medical and English test are common.
