Compensation & Benefits Analyst
Also known as: C&B Analyst · Total Rewards Analyst · C&B Executive
Analyses salary structures, benchmarks pay and manages employee benefits like insurance and leave policies.
What you’d do
Compensation and benefits (C&B) analysts handle the numbers side of HR. They work on salary structures, annual increments and bonuses, and benefits such as group health insurance. They sit in HR teams of mid-size and large companies, or at HR consulting firms that run pay surveys.
- Maintain salary bands and pay structures
- Prepare data for annual appraisal increments
- Manage insurance and other benefit plans
- Analyse pay survey data in Excel
How you get in
Pure C&B roles often go to MBA (HR) graduates or to people with a year or two in HR operations or payroll. BBA graduates usually reach them through HR operations or payroll roles; strong Excel skills are the common requirement.
