What you’d do
An ANM (Auxiliary Nurse Midwife) is the frontline health worker for a group of villages or an urban ward. Most work at government sub-health centres and Ayushman Arogya Mandirs; private hospitals and NGOs also hire them. A day includes immunisation sessions, check-ups for pregnant women and new mothers, home visits with ASHA workers and entering records in health registers and apps.

How you get in
Complete the ANM diploma at an INC-recognised nursing school and register with the State Nursing Council. Then apply to state health department or National Health Mission recruitment, or to private hospitals and NGO health projects.
